CocoCay vs Celebration Key is a line choice, not a vibe. Perfect Day CocoCay is Royal Caribbean's (and Celebrity's) Bahamas island day. Celebration Key is Carnival's. Island entry is included on both. Drink packages and paid upgrades are not the same ashore.
Coco matches who is sailing and which Florida door you can use. No invented fares. Space is not held.
At a glance
Line lock: Royal or Celebrity → CocoCay. Carnival → Celebration Key. Florida door in this lane: Port Canaveral for Mardi Gras plus Celebration Key. Fort Lauderdale is not a Carnival homeport in this window.
Included: walk-on beach and standard island entry on both. Paid on CocoCay: Thrill Waterpark, Hideaway Beach, Coco Beach Club, cabanas. Paid on Celebration Key: Pearl Cove; Island Eats credit then pay; drinks a la carte plus service and VAT.
Drinks: Royal drink packages generally work ashore at CocoCay — confirm on your sailing; that is line policy, not a Vacay amenity. Carnival CHEERS! and Bubbles do not work ashore at Celebration Key.
Crowds: Celebration Key's expanded pier can take four ships at once (Carnival, pier expansion completed mid-2026), and Princess Cruises starts calling there on 1 November 2026 (cruisenews.io). Plan for a busy beach day, not an empty cove.
Is CocoCay or Celebration Key better?
Better for whom. Kids who want a Royal water-park day and a drive to Port Canaveral: Star of the Seas, Sunday 17 January 2027, 7 nights Western Caribbean plus CocoCay. Space is not held. Match that week at /match/canaveral-family.
Already a Carnival family on an Eastern Caribbean week: Mardi Gras, Saturday 16 January 2027, with Celebration Key — with CHEERS! staying on the ship. I will not score a fake winner.
Perfect Day at CocoCay vs Celebration Key
Royal renamed Perfect Day at CocoCay to Perfect Day CocoCay on 26 August 2026 (dropped "at"). SERPs still often show Perfect Day at CocoCay. Same island, same pier day.
Hideaway Beach on CocoCay and Pearl Cove on Celebration Key are both paid adult-leaning zones. Light touch only here — no dollar amounts. Ask on Match if those matter for your group.
Does CHEERS! work at Celebration Key?
No. Carnival's drink-packages page is clear: CHEERS! and Bubbles do not work ashore at Celebration Key. Island drinks are a la carte, with service and VAT.
Royal drink packages generally work ashore at CocoCay. Confirm on your sailing. Line policy, not a Vacay amenity.
Pricing note: Carnival says CHEERS! and Wi-Fi package prices will vary by sailing length, itinerary and season from 1 December 2026, and it has added FunPacks bundles of extras (USA Today, 14 October 2026). No prices here. Either way, CHEERS! still stays on the ship at Celebration Key.
Is CocoCay included in the cruise?
Yes — island entry is included when your Royal (or Celebrity) sailing lists CocoCay. Beach and standard chairs are part of the cruise day. Thrill Waterpark, Hideaway, Coco Beach Club, and cabanas are upgrades. No rates on this page.
Celebration Key entry is included on Carnival sailings that call there. Food pattern: Island Eats credit, then you pay. Pearl Cove is extra. Included means the gate, not every bar and lounge.
Lines can still move a private-island day within a sailing for weather: Royal Caribbean’s 24 October 2026 Harmony of the Seas sailing from Port Canaveral moved its CocoCay day from Monday 26 to Tuesday 27 October and kept every port (Cruise Hive, 24 October 2026).
Match with Coco
Tell Coco who is sailing and which Florida port you can actually use. We match the line and the island day to that — not to a reel. Next step: Match at /match (Port Canaveral family week: /match/canaveral-family).
